One 180-day extension per entry, done in a morning at Promenada. What to bring, what it costs, and what residents ran into.

What changed
  • Aug 2026: proof of funds now asked more often (6 resident reports)

Who this is for

You entered Thailand on a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and want to stay past your first 180 days without leaving the country.

What to bring

  • Passport with your entry stamp
  • TM.7 extension form (filled in, signed)
  • One 4×6 cm photo
  • TM.30 receipt from your landlord
  • 1,900 THB in cash

Step by step

  1. Go to Chiang Mai Immigration at Promenada Mall, 2nd floor. Doors open 08:30.
  2. Take a queue ticket for extensions, not 90-day reports.
  3. Hand over the documents. Officers sometimes ask for proof of funds; bring a recent bank statement.
  4. Wait for the stamp. Most residents are out by noon.

After the extension

Your 90-day report clock restarts from the extension date. Update your entry date in Ping so the countdown stays right.
